ART REMOVED FROM THE SCHOOLS - GERMANY 1939 or LA 2009

Just Jerry's opinion:

When the Nazis censored the arts in 1939, and repressed creativity in the schools, the free world was aghast!
70 years later, Los Angeles has cut arts education from its public schools.
Irrespective of the motives, the loss of the arts in children's lives is the same.
The San Fernando Valley, indeed all of greater Los Angeles, makes its living producing the arts. Protecting arts education isn't just a matter of culture and civilization for us ............. "it's the economy stupid!"

Imagine what it would be like if the people who donated $2 million for a Lakers victory parade had instead donated that money to directly support arts education in a public school? The same amount of money that provided a few people pleasure for hours could have instead provided thousand of people both pleasure and life enrichment for years.
